The Bachelor
If the catch phrase of 1990s relationships is"Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus," then the message of The Bachelor is"Men are Mustangs, Women are Cattle." The equivalent of being trapped in a subpar Friends episod…

It's too early to tell whether movie comedies will be the right forte for Chris O'Donnell, but"The Bachelor" suggests that he might not want to eliminate his other acting options just yet.

The average, formula-driven romantic comedy goes through several predictable phases: the characters meet, fall in love, are split apart by complications, then get back together for the happy ending. To one degree or ano…

Why can't a woman be more like a man dressed like a woman?

Mrs. Doubtfire
In the 15 years since"Mork and Mindy," Robin Williams has played the witty manchild so often, he's turned into a cliche. It has worked because he's transcendentally funny. But instead of showcase movies-- in which he'…

It seems strange to watch Mrs. Doubtfire and not see Dustin Hoffman. This is, after all, a variation on Tootsie meets Kramer vs. Kramer, both of which featured Hoffman. Here, it's Robin Williams fighting for custody o…

Ushered in over the past few weeks by Russell Crowe's muscles and John Travolta's ego, the summer event movie season has arrived, and that can mean only one thing: a new Woody Allen movie.
