圣诞故事 A Christmas Story review by Carina Hoskisson

The perennial classic at our house.

I think I first saw this story in Fourth grade. I identified with it. I've seen it every year since then; I still identify.

Ralphie is in a quandry. More than anything else in the world he wants a Red Rider BB Gun for Christmas. No one understands him. Everyone he asks, from his mother to his teacher tells him He'll Shoot His Eye Out. Ralphie decides that he will employ every resource to get himself a shiny Red Rider BB gun, from Santa to Essay writing.

A Christmas Story is a charming look at a 30's family's Christmas. Narrated by an older Ralphie, the voice-overs provide a wonderful insight into Ralphie's tortured psyche. This movie didn't win any awards and didn't leave them gasping in Venice or Cannes, but it is a really funny Christmas movie that everyone can enjoy.

The perfect movie for the Holidays.
